"Standing on the right side of the DJ for so many years has really given me a good ear for what moves me, as well as an outlook on what moves the dance floor", quotes DJ Ken-E with a devilish smile and joyous energy as he blends his beats among the cascading lights. Known for his past wizardry as a premiere lighting programmer at some of Chicago's hottest dance clubs, such as Vortex, Fusion, Crobar, Roscoes, and Hunters, DJ Ken-E blends his visual wisdom with his technical skill on the turntables to create a magnificent show for any club hopper. His unique style intricately weaves elevating tribal beats with house diva and anthem vocals, and simultaneously arouses any dance floor extraordinaire, circuit-goer, or new coming bystander into the hands in the air experience. Although DJ Ken-E's name has been known in the Chicago club scene for over 10 years, he has exhibited a strong and steady climb in the Chicago DJ scene holding former residencies at popular gay dance clubs from Roscoes in the heart of Chicago's Boystown to Hunters Dance Club in the greater Chicagoland area. Ken-E has also played several guest DJ spots with other well-known Chicago nightclubs such as Hydrate, Sound-Bar, Crobar, X/O, The Mission, as well as DJed opening ceremonies for "Life without Lupus" A city-wide sponsored walk/run for the Lupus Foundation of Illinois. In 2004, Ken-E was selected as one of the showcase DJs for the closing party of FIREBALL, a national circuit party event sponsored by the Hearts Foundation in Chicago. Later that year, he was selected to portray a DJ role in Bowser Makes A Movie directed by Toby Ross for Hornbill Films. The movie debuted in 2005 as part of Reeling: The International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. In 2006, Ken-E has taken on a new challenge as he leaves Chicago behind in hopes of pioneering his musical talent to Denver, Colorado. Recently he debuted at HEAVEN and HELL, an afterhours circuit event where without no doubt Ken-E has raised the bar another notch in the Denver music scene. DJ Ken-E's involvement with the communities as well as his musical involvement in the nightclub scene hopes to help him pioneer his career further into national and international status, a true challenge for this very dedicated DJ. His ambitions have earned him prior recognition on the Dance1 Network, and currently is holding DJ residencies at The Compound, Climax @ Vinyl, and the newest X-Bar in Denver.
